Mini-mini Crochet Gift Bag Free Pattern

Hi folks πŸ™‚

There are a few exciting things happening for me that I have been wanting to tell you about, but didn’t want to do random posts for each thing, blowing my own trumpet. So today I was thinking, as I was having a play with my Mini crochet gift bag pattern and some Easter eggs, of the best way to share them with you.  (free mini mini pattern down the bottom)

Rabbit and chicks made by one of my daughters - clever huh?

Recently, I was very honoured (and nervous) to be asked to talk about my stash organisation via a podcast with Suzy Hausfrau Yarn Store.  I was brave and Renae interviewed me about my thoughts on crochet today and of course stash organising.  If you want to hear a fast-talking, nervous overchuckler, then head to the podcast page (link and podcast no longer available April 2017) for me and lots of really great interviews – Kaffe Fassett included! (I’m not worthy!)

The next piece of exciting news for me, is that my Felt Ladybird Tutorial has been featured in the April 2014 edition of Homespun Magazine. I was really thrilled when I was asked to do this, as I’ve never done anything like it.  I can’t wait til my copy arrives.

That’s all well and good but it’s all about me.  What about you?  Well, I thought you might like the pattern for the teeny mini gift bag.  It’s so small, its just the right size for a real egg.  Perfect for Easter gift giving. As always, I’ve provided the pattern in both UK & US terms.  If you’d like a pretty PDF of this pattern and the bigger apple sized version, you can get it from my shop here.

Perfect for real eggs too!

What does this mean? slip stitch to 3ch loop, 3 chain (starting chain) 2 dc,? Thanks.

      Hi Beverley πŸ™‚

What you are doing is making 3 dc into each 3 ch space. You start by slip stitching into the next 3 ch space. The ch 3 is your starting chain which takes the place of your first dc. Then you do 2 dc in the same space. That’s your first 3 dc in 3 ch space. Then you do 3 dc in each 3 ch space around.

      Hope that hells πŸ™‚

I love this pattern. I do wish that the pattern was able to be printed with a minimum of pages. It is too long and takes too many pages to print. Unfortunately, I will not be making this bag.

Well that’s your choice of course! A lot of folks work from devices without printing at all. All of my patterns these days are produced in a way that encourages minimal printing. I always suggest just printing the actual pattern part on it’s own.
